New Years @ Big White - Part 1

Two years ago I fell in love with the deep powder, wonderful weather and beautiful scenery at Big White, just outside of Kelowna, B.C. This year my wife and I decided to come back with some friends to spend the New Years break out here. We've had two days of riding so far and Big White never disappoints! The hi-light so far... heading to the top of the mountain and taking the Powder Bowl run back down to the base. It was an amazing experience to snowboard through the huge amounts of fresh powder and the sun broke through the clouds just as we started riding down. Then there's nothing like heading back to the chalet for a good meal and a relaxing evening in the hot tub.

Weddingbells

I just received the brand new Weddingbells magazine, which should be on sale within the next two weeks. When you pick up your copy and start flipping through the articles, you will come across the new Jeremy Hiebert Photography Ad. The Ad turned out great and I got great placement in the magazine.

Family Session - Chris & Melissa - Part 1

I love photographing my family, especially my little niece and nephews. They are so much fun and they love posing for the camera. We headed down to Fraser's Grove Park and the light was perfect. I did a few regular family shots, and then let the kid’s run around. I also wanted a few original-looking shots and wandered around a bit, looking for something new and exciting. I came across a log hanging over the riverbank. My eyes lit up and I knew we had to use it. Little did I know my sister-in-law doesn't like sitting on logs hanging precariously over the riverbank. We convinced her that the shot would look great, so she climbed on out on the log. It was a great evening and I had a lot of fun.

Bison heading to the BIG smoke - Part 1

Saturday night the Bison were playing the University of Western Ontario. The Bison were off to a slow start and the game looked like it could go either way. Then Bison defense and special teams came up with two huge touchdowns in the first half. The game was still quite close at half time, but in the second half the Bison offense started to click and dominated the rest of the game. The final score was 52 - 20. With that win the Bison finish the season undefeated and head to Toronto to play for the Vanier Cup.

U of M Bison v.s. Calgary Dino's

I love sports, especially playoff football. So I could not pass up the opportunity to photograph the Canadian University Western Semi-Finals at Canad Inns Stadium. It was great weather for early November and the 8-0 Bison hammered the Dino's. The game was pretty much over at Half Time, and to add insult to injury the Bison’s finished the game with a huge quarterback sack. The final was 27-5 and the Bison are on to the Conference Finals.

Dave & Heidi - Family Session

Both Dave and Heidi are HUGE Winnipeg Blue Bomber fans, with season tickets, so it was just natural to do their portrait with the whole family wearing their Bomber jerseys. We headed off to a local football field to do the photo shoot. Little Jake's eyes lit up as soon as he saw the field and he took off running with the football in his arms. It was a lot of fun despite the windy and cool weather, and I was glad to have the opportunity to photograph them.

Deni & Amina - e.Session Part 1

I met with Deni & Amina on Saturday morning at the Basilica. The sun was just creeping over the trees and gave up gorgeous light. The reflection on the water was amazing as well, so we just had to go down by the river. We had a lot of fun and I was very pleased with the images in the end.

Thanks

Doug & Dena - e.Session Part 1

We possibly had the last beautiful day of fall this past Saturday. It was wonderful weather to be out at the Forks with Doug and Dena. They also brought their dog, Bosco, who provided us with plenty entertainment for the afternoon. We traveled all over the Forks but spent most of our time by the river bank. We even ended up underneath a bridge and got some really cool shots. I had a great afternoon and couldn't have had a better couple to photograph.

Thanks
