Emilia & Scott's wedding

Emilia & Scott had such a beautiful wedding and they managed to get one of the few sunny Saturdays this summer. The whole wedding party was very fun to work with and made my job much easier. Emilia also used a number of great vendors here in the city. All the girls looked amazing; they all bought their dresses from 7th Avenue. The flowers were designed by Julie @ Whyte Ridge Academy Florist and the reception was held at the Radisson Hotel downtown.
We photographed in the Exchange District, the Basilica, and the Legislative Building, but some of my favourite images had just the simple brick in the background.

Nicole & Travis - e.Session

On Wednesday I met up with Nicole & Travis in the Exchange district. It also happened to be the hottest day of the year. I felt bad for them - it's hard to want to be close to each other when it's so hot and humid outside! They were both a bit unsure of the session at the start, but by the end they were very comfortable in front of the camera. Here's what Nicole had to say:

"Thanks for meeting with us today. It was a great thing for us. Getting to see how it all works before the wedding will for sure make us more comfortable."

My favorite images came in front of a brick wall. We even found a chair just laying around, which was neat little addition for their images.

They will be getting married tomorrow and I'm glad to see that it's supposed to be a bit cooler.

Can't wait to spend the day with you guys tomorrow!

Unfortunately because these images where being stolen, these images are no longer available for the general public.

Just another day in the park

It was a real pleasure photographing Heather and her family. I have found that when working with kids there is never a dull moment; Heather's kids were no exception. She wanted her sister's family and her parents there as well for a casual session at the park. We started off with a couple "formal" shots at the Leo Mol gardens, and then it was off for a picnic where I think more marshmallows were burned than eaten. I think my favorite shot of the day was of Heather holding her newborn son -what a special moment.

Thanks for allow me to tag along for the afternoon!

Kitty & Darryl's wedding

Kitty & Darryl's wedding had a number of firsts for me: I didn't actually meet them until the day before the wedding, and they had no wedding party. My favorite time of day for every wedding I shoot is when I get to work with just the couple, so Kitty & Darryl's day was an awesome experience as I had only them the whole time.
They were both really great to work with and we had the time to photograph at a number of different locations. Some of my favourite shots came from the Leo Mol gardens, and I was also pleased with how well both the getting ready and the reception details turned out. Their cake (by Baked Expectations) was spectacular and Planned Perfectly did any amazing job with the tables and chairs. Everything looked so beautiful together.
Andrea from Soiree Event Planning did a fabulous job putting together the entire wedding day, especially since the couple was from out of town.

Lauren & Chad - e.Session

I have know Chad for many years, so I was thrilled when he contacted me to photograph his wedding. Both Lauren and Chad decided they wanted an e.Session, knowing what a benifit it is to work with the photographer before the wedding. Due to the crazy summer weather we have been having, we decided to do the session at the Leo Mol Gardens. They were a great couple to work with and I am so pleased with some of the shots we got. Their next session will be out at Lauren's farm; can't wait for that!
