Has technology failed us?

I know we all get a ton of emails with funny jokes and photos, but this one made me laugh out loud. It was sent to me by my good friend Josh with the title - Has technology failed us?

Wonderful Wedding Show Booth

We had a great time at the wedding show this past weekend. It was really busy the entire time and I enjoyed getting to meet a lot of couples. Check out the booth my wife, Meagan, designed. It seemed like it was a hit with people coming through the show.

Wonderful Wedding Show

This is going to be our first year at the Wonderful Wedding Show and we're looking forward to it. These kind of events are always great for meeting lots of new people and catching up with friends. If you heading out to the show this weekend please stop by and say hi. We are going to be set up at booth #S30 on the second floor close to the registration area.

Hope to see you there!

Cindy & Tom's wedding

New Year's Eve was quite the party, hosted by Cindy and Tom. Of course, they had multiple reasons to celebrate: the opening of Tom's fabulous Four Points by Sheraton Winnipeg South and most importantly, their wedding!

Tom and Cindy know how to throw a great party and make all their friends and family feel welcome. From their stunning ceremony to the amazing reception, all had a great time. Julie, from Whyte Ridge Academy Florist in a combined effort with Madeline from Madeline's Weddings & Events, surpassed themselves in decorating the ballroom for both occasions. It was one of the most beautiful rooms I've seen.

I had a great time photographing Tom, Cindy and all their friends. They were naturals in front of the camera and in return, the camera was good to them! They kept me moving and thinking up new ideas, as we did all of the photo shoots at the hotel, and I think the images turned out great.

Congrats guys! Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy a time of rest and relaxation now that all the craziness is behind you.

Baby Everett

We are so thrilled that little Everett John Klassen arrived safe and sound right before Christmas; a beautiful baby boy for Josh and Leah and and the biggest, little brother for Jay.

I felt honoured to be able to capture some images of Jay after he was born silently a year and a half ago and I feel honoured to be able to photograph little Ev now. He's such a cutie and a natural in front of the camera already! It was a great New Year's Day: photographing this little guy at his home, followed by a nice brunch with his mom and dad.

Thanks guys! We love you.

Vicki & Drew's wedding

It has been quite a long time since I last wrote something, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been busy. In fact it's been the opposite, which is probably why my blog has been suffering a little.

I was so glad to photograph Vicki and Drew's wedding over the Christmas break. Drew is my wife's cousin and I've really enjoyed getting to know them even better through the whole wedding process. Also, Meagan and I got married over the Christmas season, using some of the same locations, so it brought back a lot of great memories.

Both Vicki and Drew were very involved in planning every detail of their wedding, and it turned out stunningly. They were also a lot of fun to work with and we had developed a good comfort level together since we had already completed two separate e.Sessions earlier in the year. I love it when the couple feels so relaxed and at ease in front of the camera.

The weather was beautiful on the day and we had just gotten a fresh snowfall over Christmas, allowing for some wonderful shots. It was very special for Vicki and Drew to have some images done in front of the City Hall Christmas Tree, since the tree came from Vicki's grandparents. What a unique connection!

I really enjoyed the whole day, from start to finish, and Meagan and I are extremely happy for you both as you start out your new life together.
