Nicole & Brian - engagement session

I had a fun time spending a beautiful Winnipeg, winter afternoon with Nicole and Brian. We had decided to postpone their e.Session from the week before because of the debilitating windchill that Winnipeg suffered through a few weeks ago, but we ended up getting great weather the second time round.

Nicole and Brian actually won their e.Session through the Wedding Bells 25th Anniversary celebration a while ago. Since they're getting married in the summer time they were pretty enthusiastic about a winter engagement shoot, just to keep things varied. We met up at The Forks, a location I love to shoot in, and they were a fun-loving and easy-going couple to work with. It's always nice to include some skating and tobogganing shots... typically Canadian!

Hope you love the images!

Lauren & Adam featured in Weddings in Winnipeg

This past fall I had the privilege of meeting and photographing an amazing couple. Lauren & Adam were so easy to work with during their e.Session and the wedding day, and didn't back down from any ideas I threw at them. One of my highlights was lunch on the big day... Yep, they scheduled in a lunch break for everyone! It was wonderful! :) I especially appreciated my huge gluten-free salad with all the fixings.

Published in Ireland!

Well, I have to admit that I'm pleased to be able to say I'm an "internationally published" photographer now! Many of you know that I was in Ireland to photograph a wedding in October. We had a wonderful time with Andy and Kelly and were so happy to be part of their day. In the end, a wedding magazine over there caught wind that I had photographed the couple in a waterfall for their trash the dress session. We've been in contact back and forth over the last few months and the magazine loved Kelly and Andy's wedding images so much that they ran their "real wedding" story. Check it out!

Clement family session

I was happy to head out to the Clement's house last week to do this family shoot for them, especially under the circumstances. Those of us who have family members who happen to be dogs understand how precious they are to us, and Hugo is no exception. The Clements definitely love their baby! Unfortunately, the vet says Hugo doesn't have much longer so the whole family got together for a photo shoot with him. We decided to do this at their house since that's Hugo's home and he loves being there.

I had a great time with this family and they made me feel at home and welcome. Hugo was very friendly and a fun dog to hang out with for the afternoon! These are just a couple of the images that we shot in and around their home.

Thanks for a great afternoon!

Choosing the perfect dress

If you are still looking to find that perfect dress check out this latest issue of Weddings in Winnipeg. Nicole's image is featured as she, unlike most brides, purchased two dresses, Yep that's right, two! :) They were both amazing dresses and it came down to a game time decision. Hillary & Ryan's Wedding

You could either view Hillary and Ryan's wedding as the last of the season, or the first of 2011. Either way, it was a good note to end/begin on!

We had a great time spending the day with Hillary and Ryan and their entire wedding party since they were such nice people, as well as a lot of fun. They took the frigid weather in stride and were relaxed about the whole wedding day. Since it was so cold outside, we took advantage of the Legislature and found some unique little spots to shoot in. It's interesting how you can photograph in a certain location many times and yet your images are different for each shoot due to changes in lighting and the personality of the couple. Hillary and Ryan had great attitudes and I think that's captured in their images.

Even though we took it easy on the wedding party for most of the day, Hillary really wanted some fun images out at the Forks so we all braved the cold and headed out on the ice. I hope they all feel it was worth it because I certainly like the way they turned out!

Their reception was at Bel Acres, a place that I've become very familiar with over the last few years. One thing I absolutely loved about Hillary and Ryan's wedding were the favours they gave to their guests. What is more perfect for a mid-January wedding than homemade mittens! This was such a unique and personal touch and I appreciated even the little kid-sized ones. I brought a pair home for my son :)

Thanks for an awesome day, you guys. I really appreciated your calm and relaxed, yet fun personalities and it was a pleasure to work with you both.

Allison & Evan - Portrait Session

Allison and Evan were another pair of brave souls who decided to do portraits in the Exchange District on a freezing cold day. I was impressed with their commitment level! A family member had given them a gift certificate for a portrait session and they decided to fit it in right before Christmas.

They've been dating for about a year and met because both of them have careers in law enforcement. Maybe that explains why they were so tough! Since their work schedules are a little bit more flexible, we were able to meet for the shoot during the morning. Even though they were game for the outdoor shoot despite the cold temperatures, I took it a little easy on them and we headed to McKim Courtyard to finish off session.

I love the way the images turned out, especially the ones of Evan giving Allison a piggy-back ride. I think they show their personalities perfectly.

Thanks guys!
